What is massage therapy?

Massage is defined as the rubbing and kneading of muscles and joints of the body and hands as a means of relieving tension and pain and stimulate circulation. Massage techniques can vary from light stroking to deep pressure.

Why offer massage therapy with chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care, when combined with the benefits massage therapy, can be more effective and longer lasting than chiropractic alone. When subluxation, or misalignment of bones, joints, and vertebra occurs, the muscles become tense. Massage therapy can aid in the reduction of muscle tension, stress, and pain and allow the manipulation of the musculoskeletal system to occur much more easily.

I don't do social media but I wanted to send a note of thanks to Julia for the great massages that help make life more comfortable and enjoyable for days beyond the actual massage. Julia cares about people and truly wants to use her gift of massage to help others and improve their lives. It is so nice to find someone who cares and focuses on taking care of others rather than just going through the motions of a job! She listens to find out where the trouble points are and does a great job of working to improve them. Many thanks to her for her great work and being a great person!!

FAQ's

Massage therapy is a form of hands-on therapy that involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues. It is often used to promote relaxation, relieve pain, and improve overall health and well-being.

During a massage therapy session, you will typically lie down on a massage table or chair while the massage therapist uses their hands, fingers, or specialized tools to manipulate your soft tissues. You may need to remove some clothing, depending on the type of massage therapy you are receiving.

Massage therapy can help with a wide range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, stress, anxiety, and depression. It can also help with conditions such as fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

The frequency of massage therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and condition. Some people may benefit from weekly or bi-weekly massages, while others may only need occasional sessions. Your massage therapist can help you develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Some insurance plans do cover massage therapy, but coverage can vary widely depending on the plan. It is important to check with your insurance provider to determine your specific coverage and any limitations or restrictions that may apply.
